A parish council is a civil local authority found in England and is the lowest tier of local government. It is an elected corporate body, has variable tax raising powers, and it carries out beneficial public activities in a geographical area known as a civil parish.

AGM

AGM – There is an Annual Meeting of the Council which is held at the beginning of the monthly meeting in May.


Annual Parish Meeting – This is a meeting where electors can contribute to the agenda, for example: to celebrate local activities or debate local issues. This is held at 7pm on the same date as the monthly meeting in May.

Our Meetings

The Parish Council meet monthly in the Church Hall from 7:30pm, this is usually the third Tuesday of the month but if you are wanting to attend we recommend you check the Agenda for an upcoming meeting which will be displayed at least 3 days prior in the noticeboard by the Churchhouse Inn car park entrance on Pump Lane or contact the Clerk as meetings do occasionally have to be rearranged.


There is a 10 minute Open Public Forum at the beginning of the meeting should members of the public wish to address the Council.

Churchstow Parish Boundaries

Churchstow, a small village on an eminence, 2 miles N.W. of Kingsbridge, has 1877 acres of land, including the small hamlet of Venn, and Kingsbridge Union workhouse.
